Individual Counselling
Your counselling journey may start or continues here. Many clients seek counselling when they feel anxious, low, or stuck — or when the strategies that once worked no longer feel effective. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit; counselling can also be a space for reflection, growth, and strengthening your relationship with yourself.
APPROACH
Kate focuses on helping clients identify and address the patterns underlying their internal and external struggles. Together, you’ll work to understand how past experiences, current pressures, and internal narratives shape your emotions and behaviours. Through this process, clients often gain greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
Kate draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and elements of Emotionally Focused and Gottman methods. Each session is tailored to the client’s needs and pace, ensuring a process that feels both supportive and effective.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A strong counsellor–client fit is essential to successful therapy. We begin with a 15-minute phone call to ensure alignment between my approach and your needs. Our first session focuses on understanding your background, history, current challenges, and strengths. From there, we meet weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your goals and the nature of the concerns we’re addressing.
If after three sessions you don’t feel safe, understood, or appropriately challenged, we’ll pause to review our process and adjust the approach — or, if needed, I’ll help you find a counsellor who might be a better fit. The goal is to ensure you feel supported and empowered throughout your journey toward growth, balance, and lasting change.
