Every relationship faces challenges, and seeking support is a sign of strength and commitment to growth — not failure. Couples counselling is designed for partners who wish to improve communication, rebuild trust, or strengthen emotional connection. It can also support couples who are uncertain about the future of their relationship and need space to explore whether to repair or part with clarity and respect.

APPROACH

Kate draws on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two evidence-based approaches proven to enhance relationship satisfaction and stability. These methods help partners recognize unhelpful patterns, express emotions more effectively, and respond to one another with empathy and understanding.

Each session focuses on helping couples move from reactivity to understanding, from disconnection to closeness. The process is collaborative and supportive — offering practical tools and insights that can be carried beyond the therapy room to enrich daily life and communication.

WHAT TO EXPECT


We begin with a 15-minute phone call to ensure that my approach and experience align with your needs as a couple. Our first joint session focuses on understanding your relationship history, current challenges, and shared goals. This is followed by one individual session with each partner, which allows me to understand both the dynamic between you and the individual experiences that shape it. From there, we meet together in weekly or bi-weekly sessions to work toward the goals we’ve identified.

Couples counselling offers a supportive, balanced space to deepen understanding, resolve conflict, and move toward a more connected, intentional partnership — whatever form that ultimately takes.
